NET Overview


Hi all… after a long time again I am writing here, this time purpose is different.

This time the purpose of writing is to help the NET (National Eligibility Test) management aspirants. This is all about helping and sharing. I will try to cover the entire syllabus and will try to discuss all important aspect of NET Management. I will share some notes also, so be here and don't miss any post.

What is NET ??

The UGC conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.

NET EXAM Pattern

Now the NET exam will have 2 (1 general + 1 subject wise) papers, earlier it was 3 papers (1 general + 2 Subject wise). Both the papers will have only the objective types of questions.

On behalf of UGC, the CBSE announces holding of the NET on 8 July 2018 in two seprate sessions as under :

Session 1 : 
Paper : 1st. 
Marks : 100
Number of Question: 50 questions all are compulsory
Duration : 1 Hour (09:30 A.M. to10:30 A.M.) IST

Session 2 : 
Paper : 2nd. 
Marks : 200
Number of Question: 100 questions all are compulsory
Duration : 2 Hours (11:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M.) IST

Paper 1 : It shall consist 50 objective type compulsory question each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. 

Paper 2: It shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory question carrying 2 marks each, which will be based in the subject selected by the candidate.


Note :  Candidate seeking admission to the Test (UGC-NET, July, 2018) must apply online only on the CBSE website: cbsenet.nic.in

So, this is an overview of NET, now we will start discussing and preparing for the NET Exam. I will specially focus on Management subject.
